Ms. Hood serves as the 7th Grade School Counselor at Winkler Middle School and is passionate about helping students grow academically, socially, and emotionally. She began her journey in school counseling after earning her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Old Dominion University and her Master’s in School Counseling from Liberty University.

Before becoming a school counselor, Ms. Hood taught private school students in Kindergarten through 3rd Grade, where she developed her commitment to advocacy, emotional support, and student empowerment.

Ms. Hood believes in meeting students where they are and helping them reach their full potential through empathy, encouragement, and accountability. She takes pride in creating a safe and welcoming space where students can express themselves, explore challenges, and develop lifelong coping skills.

Outside of school, Ms. Hood enjoys reading, dancing, traveling, and spending time at the beach. She loves celebrating her students’ successes and is always cheering them on to be the best version of themselves!
